MRI DWI sequence shows an axial section through the dorsal thalami with hyperintensity (restricted diffusion) in the right dorsal thalamus (c/w infarct). Abnormality highlighted.

Thalamic Stroke - Dorsal Thalamus
This patient suffered from sudden-onset of sensory abnormalities (dysthesias and hypesthesia) on the left side of the body. Right side of the body was unaffected. There was some associated incoordination on the left side of the body.
